Being born in the mountainous city of Bandung almost 40 years ago, I have always loved the chilled weather there (even though I don’t like the traffic jams that Bandung has nowadays). This could be the sole reason why I love going to cold places, both for hiking in different mountains and camping with my friends. During some offseasons though, I prefer going to the seaside.
With my hobby of traveling around (Indonesia or overseas), I found it hard not to be able to swim at first. I have always been fond of water, yet I
always envy friends who could swim in the middle of the ocean without being afraid. Some of my friends helped, encouraged and pushed my limits so I could slowly learn how to swim even in the ocean. This could be more of a reason why I go to the seaside as often as I can with my friends these days.
Hiking is another hobby of mine. I love going through different mountains with various tracks and camping spots. I guess the thrill of being in the wild without so much “technology” can be refreshing, in particular when I have to spend long hours sitting at the computer due to my work.
I found traveling as a good solution to stress relief. Many have said that people need a lot of money to go to beautiful beaches or travel locations. In a way, it could be true, especially when those beaches are “famous” ones filled with tourists.
But why don’t you search for some secluded and private beaches where you can get your friends to enjoy and relax without the hassle of others (this will also cut down the cost of your travels). In Indonesia itself, there are thousands of “untouched” beaches waiting to be found.
Last but not least, most of these photos are taken with love and with a passion for exploring other parts of Indonesia (or the world, hopefully!).
